Lame Duck

Yep, it's me. Long time no see, huh? I've got to admit...I've been feeling somewhat uninspired lately. Nothing going on I really felt moved to write about. Kids went back to school in September... yet I couldn't bring myself to the computer. I guess I've been in a slump. Lame duck.


Someone just asked me last week why I haven't posted a new blog entry in months. "Why? There is stuff going on!", she exclaimed. I thought about it for a minute. Was it that I was too caught up with other things that I just couldn't find the time? Nope. Not really. When it comes right down to it, I told her, to discuss and hash out all the recent political topics circulating presently is like beating a dead horse.

For example:
* Did anyone really think Obamacare was going to be passed and sail right through without any further opposition?
Nope.
* Didn't everyone already have the understanding that the voting public would take part in a Mid-Term election housecleaning in November?
Yep. Am I happy with the results? Cautiously optimistic but time will tell.
* Everyone was even confident the Bush tax cuts would be extended.

However, I believe we have some excitement to look forward to. This will be the year when presidential candidates will begin to throw their hats into the political ring for 2012. Will I have someone I can really get behind? Or will I, once again, be forced to hold my nose and vote for the one I dislike the least? I hope the previous statement is true or President Obama won't be the only lame duck around town.
